A new book on laser therapy in gynecology

A new book has been released – Serov V.N., Moskvin S.V., Kozhin A.A., Zhukov V.V. «Laser therapy in obstetrics and gynecology».

The monograph presents the results of our own research into the mechanisms of biological (therapeutic) effect of low-intensity laser illumination (LILI) exploring the possibilities of using laser therapy for treating women with various gynecological diseases that can cause problems with conception, pregnancy and birth of a healthy child or infertility. A review of the literature made it possible to systematize the available data.

Laser therapy has been successfully used in all areas of modern medicine for a long time, but the issues of optimizing of laser exposure, developing the most optimal modes and techniques, and determiningthe limits of safe use of laser illumination  has always been and is still are the most important ones.

In the book the questions of biomodulating effect of LILI of various spectral ranges are discussed from the standpoint of the thermodynamic launch of Ca2+-dependent processes, both the primary process (mechanism) initiated by LILI and the understanding of the specific features of the physiotherapeutic treatment methodology in obstetric-gynecological practice. New methods of laser therapy are presented, recommendations for safe work with laser devices are given.

The book is aimed at obstetricians, gynecologists, physiotherapists, specialists in the field of laser medicine and rehabilitation, dealing with the pathophysiology of reproduction, students of specialized courses on laser medicine.

About the authors

Vladimir Nikolaevich Serov is Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Obstetricologist, Chief Researcher of the Federal Medical Research Centerfor Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov (Moscow), President of the Russian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, winner of the Prize of the Russian Federation Government in the field of science and technology, Honorary Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus. Author of more than 600 scientific studies and educational books, including more than 35 monographs.

Moskvin Sergey Vladimirovich is Doctor in Biology, Candidate of Engineering Sciences,leading researcher of the State Research Center of Laser Medicine named after Skobelkin O.K. FMBA of Russia. He is the author of over 550 scientific studies, including more than 50 monographs, and 35 copyright certificates and patents.

Kohen Alexander Alekseevich is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, leading Researcher of the Rostov State Medical University, Rostov-on-Don, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Winner of the Prize of the of the Russian Federation Government in the field of Science and Technology, Corresponding Member of Russian Ecological Academy. He is the author of about 300 scientific studies and educational books, including 6 monographs.

Zhukov Vladimir Valentinovichis  Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Quantum RadiophysicsDepartment ofPhysics Faculty, Southern Federal University, Rostov-on-Don, Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation.
